Our Students
55% of our students are members of Hope Lutheran Church; 45% are members of other area Christian churches. Academically, Hope Lutheran students continually score above the state and national averages on tests such as the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. The school's composite scores of specific tests will be shared upon request. Seeking a well-rounded Christian education, over three-quarters of the student body also participates in a variety of extracurriculars. Students are active in service learning in and out of the classroom. Recent service projects include teaming up with Calvary Radio for Mercy Mission, Operation Christmas Child, Adopt-a-Family, and Compassion In Action (CIA) drives. Our Parents The parents of Hope Lutheran students are very active in the school community. A Moms In Touch group meets weekly to lift up the HLS community in prayer. The Booster Club is an organization of parent volunteers who support Hope Lutheran extracurriculars. Many parents volunteer during the school day and at school sponsored events as well.
